BUNKER UPDATE
- INFORMATION FOR
MEMBERS:-
As all Members are probably
aware, we have sustained some very extensive
damage to the majority of our bunkers. On the
whole, there are very few which have not either
had the face washed away, drainage destroyed, or
both. For your information, the Course received
201 mm (8 inches) from late on the 30th
May to early on 2nd
June.
There are a few which we will
be able to render playable and get the mechanical
bunker rake into, and these are in the process of
experiencing what repair work we can
undertake.
It has been necessary to
leave the bunkers “as is” for the early part of
this week and the latter part of last week so that
the Insurance Assessors could complete their
inspection of the wide spread damage prior to
formulating their report to our
Insurers.
As mentioned, there is
extensive damage, particularly to the drainage and
faces and this cannot be rectified simply by
“throwing” some new sand in them and raking them
over.
It is hoped Members can
understand the situation and bear with us. We will
get as many bunkers back into playing condition
(albeit temporarily), as soon as
practicable.
We thank you for your
patience.
