THE
KEPERRA BOWL 2007
Conditions of Play
1. THE EVENT: The 2008
Keperra Bowl will be played over 72 holes of
stroke play at Keperra Country Golf Club (Old
Course) - 18 holes Tuesday
13th May, Wednesday 14th May and the leading 70 players
(plus ties and exemptions) after two rounds shall play the final 36
holes, 18 holes on 15th May and Friday 16th
May. The draw for the final two rounds wil be an automatic
draw, determined by the finishing positions after the first 36
holes.
2. EVENT
COMMITTEE: The Event Committee, appointed by
the Keperra Country Golf Club and Golf Queensland, shall
have sole management and control of the event. The
Event Committee reserves the right to: (a) fix and/or
alter starting times, (b) in the event of bad weather, or
for any other reason, either shorten the contest or
fix another date/venue, (c) vary any condition should
they deem it advisable, (d) reject any entry
without assigning any reason therefore. The decisions of
the Event Committee will be final in all matters
and in the absence of a full committee, such members as
may be present at the time may give a decision and any decision
so given shall be deemed to be a decision of the full
Event Committee.
3. ENTRIES:
3.1 The Event is open to all
male amateur golfers with an Australian Men's Handicap (not
exceeding 4.4 at the time of entry) who are members
of a golf club affiliated through their
District Golf Association with Golf Queensland, or other State/National Golf
Associations.
3.2 Should entries be received in excess of the capacity field
of 156, players with higher handicaps (other than those exempt) will be balloted
out and their entry fee refunded. (Note - see
Condition 19)
3.3 Entries must be received by Keperra Country
Golf Club, PO Box 129, FERNY HILLS DC 4055 at 5:00pm
on Wednesday 23rd April 2008. Late entries may not
be accepted. For more information, please phone the Keperra Country Golf

3.4 The total entry fee for
the event is $150.00 (incl. GST). Faxed entries will
only be accepted if payment is made by
credit card (Fax 07 3855 1255) - telephone entries will
not be accepted.
3.5 Do not send cash in the mail - Keperra Country
Golf Club will not accept responsibility for cash sent
that is not received.
3.6 Entries without a
Golflink number must be supported
by a printed handicap record endorsed by an official of the
player's home club.
3.7 Nominations
are accepted at face value, on the basis that information
contained therein is correct, and up to date. Should
this subsequently be proven not to be the case, Keperra
Country Golf Club reserves the right to deem any competitor
ineligible – at any time prior to or during the
event.
3.8 Once the draw is
completed there will be no refund of entry fees to
players who withdraw from the event. Players who
withdraw prior to the qualifying round draw being published will be
refunded their entry fee, less an administration fee of $11.
4. PUBLICITY:
Keperra Country Golf Club and Golf Queensland arranges publicity
before, during and/or after this event. It is a
condition of entry that all players assent to references
to them, and pictures of them in practice and play being
published via any medium (including the internet).
5. PRIVACY: Keperra Country
Golf Club
and Golf Queensland may retain the personal details (i.e. name, address,
handicap) of entrants in this event on its records.
The purpose of doing so is such that information on
other future events conducted by Keperra Country Golf
Club and Golf Queensland (or other parties) can be forwarded
as deemed appropriate by Keperra Country Golf Club and
Golf Queensland. This information will not be available to
any other organisation. Any person may have their details
removed from this database by phoning Golf Queensland on 3252 8155.
6. HONORARY MEMBERS: Competitors will
be made Honorary Members of Keperra Country Golf Club for
the event.
7. DRESS REGULATIONS: It is a
requirement of this tournament that all players must must comply with
the dress regulations of Keperra Country Golf Club.
8. RULES: The Rules of Golf as adopted
by the R & A Rules Limited will apply together
with such Local Rules as are approved by the
Event Committee.
9. COURSE MARKERS: During practice or during the
event a player shall not place on the course, or
cause to be placed on the course, any artificial marker
or other device designed to indicate course
measurements. A player in breach of this condition shall
be disqualified.
10. DRAW AND
STARTING TIMES: A draw for each day's play will be
published on the Keperra Country Golf Club and
Golf Queensland websites. Players shall start at
the time and in the order arranged by
the Event Committee. Rule 6-3a provides "The player shall start at
the time laid down by the Committee." The penalty for
breach of Rule 6-3a is disqualification. However it is
a condition of this Event, that, in the absence of
circumstances which warrant waiving the penalty of disqualification as provided
in Rule 33-7, if the player arrives at his
starting point, ready to play, within five
minutes of his starting time, the penalty for
failure to start on time is two strokes at the
first hole, instead of disqualification. The draw for the
3rd and 4th rounds will be an automatic draw determined
on the scores returned from previous rounds.
11. BALL: It will be
obligatory for all competitors in the event
to play with a ball which is named in the current
list of Conforming Golf Balls issued by the
R&A. Penalty for breach of this
condition: Disqualification. Balls with identical markings to be used Throughout a
stipulated round, the balls a player uses must be of the
same brand and type as detailed by a single entry in the
current list of Conforming Golf Balls. Penalty: Two
strokes for each hole at which any breach occurred;
maximum per round: Four strokes.
12. DRIVING
CLUBS: "Any driver the player carries must have a
clubhead, identified by model and loft, that is
named on the current List of Conforming Driver
Heads issued by the R&A. Exemption: A
Driver with a clubhead that was manufactured prior
to 1999 is exempt from this condition. *PENALTY
FOR CARRYING, BUT NOT MAKING STROKE WITH, CLUB OR
CLUBS IN BREACH OF CONDITION: Stroke play - Two
strokes for each hole at which any breach
occurred; maximum penalty per round - Four
Strokes. * Any club or clubs in breach of this
conditino must be declared out of play by the
player to his opponent in match play or his marker
or a fellow-competitor in stroke play immediately
upon discovery that a breach has occurred.
If the player fails to do so, he is
disqualified. PENALTY FOR MAKING A STROKE WITH
CLUB IN BREACH OF CONDITION:
Disqualification" 13. USE OF MOTORISED
VEHICLES: During any round of the tournament,
competitors may not travel in or on any motorised
vehicle unless authorised by the Event
Committee. Exceptions to this condition may be
granted where a player suffers from a disability
that would preclude him from competing in the
event without the use of a motorised vehicle.
Details of the criteria for such exemptions are
available upon request from the Golf Queensland
office.
PENALTY FOR BREACH OF CONDITION: In the
absence of an exemption - 2 strokes at each hole
at which the breach of this condition occurred; maximum penalty
per round - 4 strokes.
14. MOBILE PHONES: The use of mobile phones by players
and/or caddies during the play of any competition round
is prohibited. Serious breaches of etiquette may result
in disqualification.
15. PACE OF PLAY: Rule 6-7 will be strictly enforced. A
Pace of Play Schedule and description of applicable
penalties for breaching this schedule will be supplied
to competitors prior to the first round of the
event.
16. DRUG TESTING:
All competitors are subject to drug testing by the
Australian Sports Drug Agency for banned substances as laid
down in the Golf Australia's Doping Policy - endorsed by Golf
Queensland. Any competitor infringing this condition or refusing to
take a test, may be disqualified.
17. TIES: In the event of
a tie for the overall Event, play shall continue hole by
hole over such holes as the
Event Committee shall decide, until one player gains at
least a one stroke advantage. The breaking of ties for
all other events/trophies will be determined by use of the
Australian Countback System.
18. PROTESTS: Protests must
be lodged in writing with the Event Committee
no later than 10 minutes
after the conclusion of the day's play except on
the final day when they must be lodged no
later than 5 minutes after the conclusion of play.
19. EXEMPTIONS FROM BALLOT:
Exemptions from ballot will be granted to the following
players (provided they meet the criteria detailed in condition 3.1): (1) 2008
GA National Squad members (2) Members of any
Two-Man Team representing their
State. (3) Member of any State Team
that contested the 2007 Mens Interstate Teams
Matches. (4) Members of any State Colts Team
that contested the 2007 Mens Interstate Colts
Teams Matches. (5) Members of any State
Junior Team that contested the 2008 Boys
Interstate Teams Matches. (6) Current
members of the Australian Institution of
Sport. (7) Members of an international Golf
Club (not within Australia) that meet condition
3.1. (8) The Leading 10 players on the Angus
Buchanan Trophy as at 1st April
2008. (9) Members of the New South Wales Junior
Development Team. (10) Members of the
QueenslandJunior Development Team. (11) 12
players at the discretion of Keperra Country
Golf Club.
