{"id":12204,"date":"2022-10-04T06:37:48","date_gmt":"2022-10-04T06:37:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.keperragolf.com.au\/cms\/?p=11056"},"modified":"2023-06-20T16:41:09","modified_gmt":"2023-06-20T06:41:09","slug":"captains-note","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.keperragolf.com.au\/cms\/2022\/10\/captains-note\/","title":{"rendered":"Captain&#8217;s Note"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>We have plenty to look forward to as we head into the summer months, and I am very satisfied with our progress to date considering the impact on the course as a result of the flooding earlier in the year.\u00a0 Below is a snapshot of what projects the Course and Maintenance team are focussing on at present and further down the track:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em> The resurfacing of tees 3 &amp; 11 will involve the use of temporary front tees for a period to allow recovery.\u00a0 These works are programmed for October.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em> The 28<sup>th<\/sup> hole &amp; junior short course plans are now on display in the clubhouse and the construction tender process has commenced. This project is a priority as it is integral to the timing of the rebuild of the 8<sup>th<\/sup> hole green &amp; retaining wall. \u00a0<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em> All 27 fairways and tees have had pre-emergent applied and fertilised in readiness for the spring\/summer growing period. <\/em><\/li>\n<li><em> Weed control practices commenced in July and will expand to carpet grass over the next 3 weeks &#8211; as Summer presents heightened weed growth, the Club is keen to stay ahead of this issue.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em> Pro Pin will be trialled for approx. 8 weeks on Saturdays with this commencing on the 1<sup>st<\/sup> October.\u00a0 The Saturday Competition has been chosen as it is consistently the largest weekly playing field.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em> Local rules and more recently the &#8220;Preferred lies rule&#8221; are a standing monthly agenda item for the Course &amp; Match Committee.\u00a0 Mindful of the fairway renovations programmed for the October renovations, it is expected that this rule will remain until the back end of the year.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>The post flood repairs to various course pumps and the irrigation system were finally completed last month.\u00a0 This has been a significant undertaking, often challenged by access to parts and resources.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.keperragolf.com.au\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Oct-2.jpg\"> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-12216\" src=\"https:\/\/www.keperragolf.com.au\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Oct1-300x225-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a> \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.keperragolf.com.au\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Oct-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-12217 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.keperragolf.com.au\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Oct-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"180\" height=\"240\" \/><\/a>\n<p><em>Finally, just a reminder to all that as we now play bunker shots as they lay, it is very important to make sure we clean up after we leave the bunker, I have noticed a lot of untidy areas in bunkers that should not be, please be aware of your fellow golfers and make sure we leave the bunkers in a state consistent or better than what it was before you entered.\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Doug Tester<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Club Captain<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We have plenty to look forward to as we head into the summer months, and I [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":12216,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":"","_links_to":"","_links_to_target":""},"categories":[5,65],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-12204","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-ladies","category-club-news"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.9 -
