The weather event we experienced on Tuesday 30th<\/sup> January did some significant damage, which was quickly assessed and the appropriate action to rectify the damage was taken.\u00a0 New equipment purchased, post 2022 major flooding, allowed the course team to swiftly remove debris and river deposits from fairways, allowing these areas to dry quickly and avoid long term problems with turf recovery.\u00a0 The most significant consequence of the rapid rise of the Kedron Brook was the loss of a major concrete slab forming part of the bridge on the 11th<\/sup> hole.\u00a0 Initial repairs to the bridge allowed holes 10-18 to be reopened by the Friday afternoon, with more permanent reinstatement in the process of being completed at the time of sending this communication.<\/p>\n

The course staff, along with other members of staff and volunteers did an outstanding job to have us playing within days of the storm.\u00a0 There was a lot to do across the entire 27-holes just to get the course back to a playable state.\u00a0 Thank you all for your efforts.<\/p>\n

There will be some inconvenience for a period, with bunker reinstatement and the rough requiring extended hours of work by the course staff to bring them back to acceptable levels. Some good weather will assist in the recovery timeline – let’s hope the weather gods are on our side.<\/p>\n

On a separate note, I would like to remind all Members of our Club’s Code of Conduct (click here to access via the Member portal<\/a>) which was communicated to Members in May, 2023.<\/p>\n

All Members are expected to be responsible for a Code of Conduct and treatment of staff that should apply at all times notwithstanding any issues that any member may have with any matter.<\/em><\/p>\n

If a member does have any issues they wish to raise, there is a due process and a way this should be undertaken by raising with a Board member or Staff in the proper manner.<\/em><\/p>\n

Everyone associated with our Club is expected to comply with acceptable standards of behaviour which are outlined in our policy, which is to treat each other and staff with respect.<\/em><\/p>\n

Any aggressive behaviour or abusive language is not and won’t be tolerated at KCGC in general and especially not to staff.<\/em><\/p>\n

It goes without saying that our Green Staff, Golf Shop Staff and Club House Staff are there to do their jobs and wherever possible improve your experience of playing golf at Keperra Country Golf Club.<\/em><\/p>\n

I would like to reiterate that any unacceptable behaviour will be dealt with by the Club’s Board of Directors. Please be warned this will be dealt with accordingly and serious consequences will apply if found in breach of this Code.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On a positive note, I wish all those participating in this year’s Club Championships the best of luck.<\/p>\n
