We are now pleased to announce the successful appointment of new partners to manage the program from <strong>1 October 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>New Insurance Provider &amp; Claims Handler<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>From <strong>1 October 2025<\/strong>, the Players Personal Liability Insurance Policy will be underwritten by <strong>HDI Global SE, Australia<\/strong>, with <strong>DXC<\/strong> appointed as the dedicated claims handler. This change follows the conclusion of the current arrangement with Sportscover.<\/p>\n<p>HDI is a globally recognised insurer with strong credentials in the Australian market, and DXC brings extensive experience in claims management, offering enhanced service and faster support for members.<\/p>\n<p>This transition ensures <strong>no change to the coverage you receive<\/strong>, and significantly improves the efficiency of the <strong>claims process<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why the Change Was Made<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As outlined in July, Golf Australia\u2014together with our insurance broker Marsh\u2014conducted a <strong>global market review<\/strong> to identify a provider capable of improving the member experience while maintaining robust policy coverage.<\/p>\n<p>This review was undertaken with a clear objective:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To <strong>enhance the claims process<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>To <strong>safeguard long-term affordability and access<\/strong> to this valuable protection for all affiliated club members<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>With over <strong>450,000 affiliated golfers<\/strong> nationwide, Golf Australia\u2019s group policy remains one of the most comprehensive and cost-effective solutions available.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What this means for Members<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Policy Coverage:\u00a0<\/strong>The existing policy terms will transfer to the new provider. As a reminder, the following outlines how the policy will continue to operate in practice:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Personal Injury Claims\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 Typically, this is where an affiliated golf club member hits a golf ball that causes injury to another person. For these claims, no excess applies.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Property Damage Claims<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Typically, this is where an affiliated golf club member hits a golf ball that causes damage to a neighbouring property or motor vehicle. \u00a0For these claims, a\u00a0<strong>$1,000 excess applies<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Exclusions<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 The policy excludes any claim in connection with third party property damage to Golf Carts and Personal Electronic Devices. Typically, this is where an affiliated golf club member collides into another golf cart or causes damage to another person\u2019s Electronic Device.\u202f Please note, if a member collides into a person causing personal injury or other property while in a golf cart (e.g. Car), then this would be covered.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Claims Process:\u00a0<\/strong>All claims will now be able to be submitted via a digital form allowing for simplified process for both clubs and members, and faster response times to member claims with a professional dedicated claims team who understand the needs of our members.\u00a0 Any claims which may be inadvertently submitted by a club to the old provider, Sportscover, after October 1 will be forwarded to the new provider.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Continuity of Cover:\u00a0<\/strong>There will be no interruption to coverage for affiliated golf club members during this transition to the new provider.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Policy Dates and Documentation<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Policy period:<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>1 October 2025 \u2013 1 October 2026<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Full documentation, including the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS), Certificate of Currency, and FAQs, will be shared with clubs in the coming weeks and made available on the Golf Australia website.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>A Reminder on the Importance of this Policy<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Golf Australia has offered this liability insurance as a core member benefit since <strong>2009<\/strong>, following a landmark legal case from 1994 involving serious injury at a Queensland golf course.<\/p>\n<p>This group policy provides up to <strong>$20 million in cover<\/strong> for personal injury or property damage caused by affiliated members during a round or practice session.<\/p>\n<p>Importantly, this insurance:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Is available <strong>only to members<\/strong> of affiliated golf clubs<\/li>\n<li>Does <strong>not<\/strong> apply to <strong>green fee<\/strong> or <strong>non-member<\/strong> players<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>By leveraging the scale of our national golf community, we continue to provide a <strong>high-quality insurance product<\/strong> that protects individuals from the potentially significant financial consequences of legal action.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Next Steps<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You don\u2019t need to do anything at this time. Your cover continues automatically from 1 October 2025.\u00a0 Keperra is awaiting further updates from GA and access to the relevant documents which are expected shortly.
