{"id":16479,"date":"2026-03-03T17:39:25","date_gmt":"2026-03-03T07:39:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.keperragolf.com.au\/cms\/?p=16479"},"modified":"2026-03-03T17:39:25","modified_gmt":"2026-03-03T07:39:25","slug":"lower-level-refurbishment-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.keperragolf.com.au\/cms\/2026\/03\/lower-level-refurbishment-update\/","title":{"rendered":"Lower-Level Refurbishment Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are pleased to advise that the Lower-Level Refurbishment building works are now in their final stages, with construction substantially complete and the project progressing through defects rectification and final certification.<\/p>\n<p>The Board and Management had been planning for a handover and a staged soft opening of the refurbished facilities. However, over the past two weeks,\u00a0we have been advised that this anticipated timeframe is now at risk.<\/p>\n<p>The matter concerns the final testing and certification of the Club\u2019s fire hydrant system.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the refurbishment, a private fire system was installed to increase available water pressure and meet the Queensland Fire Department&#8217;s firefighting capability requirements. The system was fully engineer-designed to comply with the Building Code and fire authority requirements, in response to the water pressure available within the Club\u2019s existing mains supply.<\/p>\n<p>During final commissioning and certification testing, issues impacting water pressure and overall system capacity have been identified. As a result, certification of the fire hydrant system has been formally referred for reassessment.<\/p>\n<p>This issue is external to the Club\u2019s operational control and relates to compliance validation within the broader water-supply and fire-engineering framework.<\/p>\n<p>The Board has been fully briefed, and the matter is being actively managed. The Club is working closely with:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Our Project Managers<\/li>\n<li>Fire engineers and hydraulic consultants.<\/li>\n<li>Quadric as Head Contractor<\/li>\n<li>Relevant authorities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Various options are currently being evaluated to protect the Club\u2019s interests and minimise further delay.<\/p>\n<p>This is clearly not the outcome we had been working toward, particularly given how close the project is to completion.
