During Wednesday\u2019s Double A-rated monthly medal competition<\/strong>, Club Champion Wes Hinton shot an impressive 10 under par, 62<\/strong>, with just one bogey, to match the current Old Course record held by former member Scott Draper. This outstanding achievement underscores Wes\u2019s skill and consistency as a golfer and sets him up for an exciting first round of this weekend\u2019s Club Championships,<\/strong> and Keperra Bowl later in the month.<\/p>\n

The 19 year old got off to a flying start, birdying the first two holes before recording his only bogey of the round on the par-3 4th. He was 1 under with 14 holes remaining and then birdied holes 5 and 9. On the back nine, widely regarded as the more challenging stretch, Wes produced a remarkable 7 under<\/strong>, showcasing his composure and precision.<\/p>\n

Reflecting on the key moments, Wes shared:<\/p>\n

\u201cEagled 11, hit a 5 iron from 174m into the wind to 15ft left, and made the downhill putt. On 14, hit a 3 wood past the bunker to 70m out, then hit a L wedge to 3 ft and tapped it in. This put me -5 through 5 on the back nine. On 17, hit a 6 iron from 176m to 11ft just left and made the downhill left-to-right birdie putt to get to -10, and -7 on the back nine.\u201d<\/p>\n
