As most would be aware, the club successfully received a funding grant of $325k under the Qld Government Community & Recreational Asset Recovery & Resilience Program to assist with the repairs to the 8th hole. More specifically the funding is for the replacement of the retaining wall adjacent to Kedron Brook (northern side).
The Club has since entered into a bilateral agreement with the Department of Tourism, Innovation & Sport (DTIS), which has appointed RPS Group as the project delivery managers.
The stakeholder group involved in the project include Keperra Country Golf Club, (DTIS), RPS Group, Dept. of Environment, Dept. of Natural Resources, Brisbane City Council & Moreton Bay Regional Council. Consequently, the preliminary works program has required extensive consultation & investigation with these groups.
Although we are yet to see any "ground broken" in the area, the below update from RPS Group (30/06/2023) provides some insight into the project status:-
- Conceptual design scope of works is completed and under final review.
- Consultation will occur with KCGC once DTIS endorses the scope/s of work/s.
- RPS Group are currently evaluating the Quantities Surveyors' costing summaries against the approved scope as we move to the next phase.
- After endorsement of scopes and costings, the next phase will be schematic design/detailed design/specification, moving to Tender Preparation.
- Surveys have been completed where required.
- Geotechnical investigations are underway where required, and field works are due to be completed in the next two weeks.
- Sports consultant has started compiling reports where required.
Periodic updates will be shared as they are provided to the Club, as I am sure we are all eager to see the 8th green back to its best.
