Anthony jones's albatross

Congratulations to Member Anthony Jones who while playing the Old Course on December 30th claimed one of the Game's rarest of achievements, flushing (and ultimately draining) his 3 wood from 230m on the 5th hole.  Well done Anthony!

Wes wins Grant field junior classic

Congratulations to our own Wesley Hinton for winning this year's Boys Division of the Grant Field Junior Classic held on the Sunshine Coast. Wes put together 3 stellar rounds to finish at -14 and hold off some fast finishers around him. Wes now gains an official World Amateur Golf Ranking! Special mention to fellow KCGC Member Caitlin Vanderkruk who also finished in 5th position overall in the Girls' division (also winning the Nett in the Girls 17 years), while Jackson Grady also won the Nett in the Boys 17 years category. Well done Team Keperra.

hydration & common sense

The recent high temperatures and humidity have highlighted the need for members and guests to remain diligent with regards to their hydration levels while on the course.  The Bureau of Meteorology is predicting more high temps, and as such the Club recommends a common sense approach to playing in the heat (i.e. if you are concerned about your health, perhaps best to not play).

Ladies Corner

I write this with a sense of déjà vu, because of all the rain!

The first weekend monthly medal has been fought over and won by Shauna Thompkins with a nett of 71.

In 2024, we will continue the trial of two tee times for the Tuesday after the weekday monthly medal.  It is designed to allow greater socialisation and the award of the previous week's medal. It would be good to see as many people as possible in the club house after the two tee starts.

BDLGA has released the draw for Ladies pennants this year.  For more details please see our Pennant Coordinator Jemma Leonard or visit the BDLGA Pennant website - by clicking here.
