February started with our annual Opening Day morning tea. This year we had a guest speaker, Dr Ross Di Corleto, who provided an extremely informative and well received presentation on Managing Heat on the Golf Course.....and hasn't that been timely! Virginia Irwin also described what Keperra's signing of the Women in Golf Charter means for the club and its members.
Our February weekday monthly medals were played on 13 February, when the course was particularly challenging, with a +3 difficulty factor. Congratulations goes out to a new member Zoe Powell who won the A Grade Medal with 64 nett, B Grade Medal Jill Garvey 72 nett, and C Grade Medal Sue Truckey with 31 points. Well done ladies.
We are now well into the Captains 4BBB Stroke Matchplay event. Those progressing to the semi-finals are: *Kathy Madden & Julie Watson vs Lyn Howarth & Anne-Marie James *Jill Garvey & Pat Connor vs Ruth Turnbull & Zena Bell. Good luck ladies.
COMING UP IN MARCH
The first of our two annual Ladies Open Days is on Tuesday 26 March. Details are in the ladies lounge, ladies Facebook page and the club website. Tangalooma is again our major sponsor - Thanks again for your support. The Club will also be a running an Introductory Ladies Golf Clinic coinciding with International Women's Day which is already fully subscribed, a great outcome and avenue to welcome new women to our Club.
Club Championships are also in March. Good luck everyone participating.
