Course News

We’re pleased to inform members that the turfing stage of the 7th and 8th green projects is now underway, following the successful completion of irrigation installation and green shaping.

Unfortunately, the turf was originally scheduled to be laid on Monday. However, due to the wet weather experienced over the weekend, this aspect of the project was delayed slightly.

As a reminder to all members: during the winter months, the course takes longer to recover, so your efforts in repairing divots and pitch marks are greatly appreciated and go a long way in helping maintain course quality for everyone.

Thank you for your ongoing support and patience.

Clubhouse Renovation Update

As members will be aware, renovation works on the bottom level of the Clubhouse are now well underway. The Club would like to sincerely thank members for their understanding and flexibility during this period. The Club would like to acknowledge members for the seamless transition in finding and using the Golf shop while it is located upstairs in the Function Room. We also acknowledge that the car park is currently under pressure due to the ongoing works. If any members are able to carpool, it would be greatly appreciated and would help ease congestion during this time.  Further updates on the progress of the Clubhouse renovations will be provided next month.

Nell Harvey Memorial Foursomes Matchplay

Beautiful conditions greeted our finalists for this year’s decider of the Nell Harvey Foursomes Matchplay.

The final would be contested between top seeds of, Susan Mortimer and Kim Williams and the 6 seeds of Cherie Maher and Pam Lawrence.

The match would prove to be a nail-biting one, with the result not being decided until the final hole. In the end it would be Cherie and Pam who would triumph winning 1up.

Congratulations to those pairs that made it through to this year’s event.

Gents Foursomes Championship

A picture-perfect day welcomed the 136 competitors in this year’s Gents Foursomes, with the course finally basking in some much-needed sunshine.

Defending champions Michael Carruthers and Jarrod Mann faced a challenging start, beginning from the 19th hole and quickly going six over par through their first five holes. However, in a show of the same resilience that saw them triumph last year, they rallied to finish four under par over the remaining 13 holes, posting a commendable 2-over-par 73.

Close behind were their playing partners, Sam Whetton and Scott Murray, who recorded a spirited round of 3-over-par 74.

The afternoon round brought tougher conditions, which was reflected in the scoring. Despite signing for a 6-over-par 77, Carruthers and Mann extended their lead, ultimately securing a three-shot victory and successfully defending their title.

Congratulations to Michael Carruthers and Jarrod Mann on a well-earned and deserving win.
