Dear Members,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank our management and staff for the work they have done in managing our club through the first half of this year. The uncertainties of recent times have & continue to create challenges; it is comforting to know we are in good hands. As for the course, I am happy with the progress made on the greens to date and the course’s presentation in general. Our maintenance team remain committed to delivering the best course they can for us all to enjoy. It has been both an interesting and demanding period, which I consider has been handled very well.
As we enter the colder months, the challenges of wear and tear become elevated. We, as members, must adhere to the various course rules, including keeping the correct distances from tees & greens when operating carts, filling divots where we can, and repairing pitch marks on greens. If done by all, these small actions will positively impact & improve the playability of the course.
Congratulations to all winners of our major events to date, and I wish all members the very best for the remainder of the golfing year.
Finally, as most would be aware, construction of the new maintenance shed has commenced. This well overdue project will deliver a new home for the course team & a facility that will serve the club for many years to come. The shed adds to a growing list of major infrastructure projects delivered in recent times, including the pump system on hole 15, upgrade of course irrigation (Toro Lynx) control system, 27-hole cart path network & the well documented new dam.
The club is now well-positioned to elevate its day-to-day maintenance focus & resource investment. A review of maintenance operations & standards has commenced, which will better align expectations & guide future planning and prioritisation.
We are all passionate & proud of our golf course & again, I reiterate that with unprecedented levels of play, we must be leaders when it comes to adhering to course etiquettes.
Best wishes & good golfing.
