It is also pleasing to share that the new maintenance shed is fast nearing completion. Importantly the building passed certification on Friday (28th Jan) and the team will take up residence over the next two weeks. Over this period, the temporary maintenance compound at the rear of the Clubhouse will be dismantled and much of the car park returned to patron use. The additional parking will be particularly welcomed by those who play in the mid-afternoon Saturday field who are often forced to do several laps of the car park before securing a park, if at all.
It is anticipated that all works will be completed within the next 3-4 weeks, at which time an official opening will occur and members will be invited to tour the site. A compliant and functional maintenance shed is an essential infrastructure item for a golf course and the new shed definitely meets these requirements. The shed has been designed and built with consideration to the future and next-generation greenkeeping practices. With an all-up investment in the vicinity of $1.5m, this is a significant asset addition for the club and its delivery would not have been possible without the incredible generosity of an individual member.
In the coming weeks, dates for the site tour will be announced and members are encouraged to come and have a look at this impressive facility.
