Course Update 10th June

After a week of fine weather, the bunker reinstatement work has progressed to a point that over half of the bunkers will be in play from this weekend.  Any bunkers not in play will be staked, with COVID rules – one handspan length preferred lie, remaining in all bunkers.  The local rules have been updated to reflect the changes and can be viewed here.  As the bunker reinstatement program progresses, we are moving towards the removal of the COVID bunker rule, with this in mind it is imperative that bunkers are raked at all times.

The path works around the practice nets are nearing completion with edging to be completed late next week. As part of this upgrade motorised carts are now restricted from this area with bollards being placed to prevent cart access.  Importantly the bollards will still allow unrestricted access for walkers/pedestrians.  Following the completion of the edging, returfing of the putting green surrounds will be programmed.

In the coming week the fairways most affected by the flooding will be oversewn with winter grass to improve playing conditions over the colder months.  Sections of the fairways on holes 1, 4, 7, 10, 16 & 18 will be improved by this process.

Members please be aware that the drinking water bubblers on holes 14, 16, 22 & 24 are currently turned off, while leaks in the water supply lines are being repaired.

Good Golfing,

Keith Johnson
