Saturday the 17th of September saw the final of this years Captains Nett Matchplay being contested between Ollie Brumpton and Shane Thompson. In an unusual twist both players were off the same handicap so neither player would receive any shots, resulting in an off the stick match.
Ollie got off to a great start which saw him reach the turn at 5up, however Shane was far from done managing to reel in the deficit and send the match into extra holes. The match would be decided on the 19th hole with Ollie eventually claiming victory.
