Winning gold at the State Games put Dylan in the mix for World Games selection and he was over the moon when he received his formal invitation to represent Australia in Berlin from 17 to 25 June 2023. There were 6 golfers selected to represent Australia in golf for the World Games, 5 of which are from Queensland. Only 66 athletes have been selected to represent Australia across a number of sports. The World Games golf tournament will be held at The Golf Club Bad Saarow outside of Berlin.
As an aside Dylan was invited by the Australian PGA to play in the $2 million Sonic Hole In One beat the pro event last weekend. While he didn’t get a hole in one he did get nearer the hole than 2 of the 3 pros, with a great shot to the green on the 160m hole 4 at Royal Queensland. He won $1000 for beating the pro! We’re all proud of him for hitting such a great shot with all the added pressure of professionals and spectators watching on. Equally impressive was another Special Olympics golf player Natashca Tennent who was in the next group. She also beat the pros showing that there’s no such thing as disability but rather golfers of all abilities! – As described by Father, Terry Price. Congratulations Dylan on an outstanding achievement.
