Course Update February 3rd

Summer has again proven to be the busiest time of the year for our Course and Maintenance team, and with recent weather conditions proving ideal for turf growth, much time has been spent on mowers.  The re-surfacing of tee blocks 3 & 11 is progressing well with strong coverage evident.  The focus with these tees over the next period will be to strengthen the turf coverage and harden the surface to a level suitable for play.

The 28th hole and practice fairway continues to progress well and the most recent inspection by the architect and project manager has the new green coverage at approximately 14 percent.  It is anticipated by this time next month these greens will have had their first cut and will have been dusted.

The renovations undertaken this week involved a low level of disturbance on all holes with the exception of the 8th.  As a consequence of the damage the 8th hole incurred, there was a need for a more invasive renovation to this green which we expect most players will easily observe.  Consequently the recovery period will be extended with this green.

Repair works planned for the month of February, included the re-surfacing of the 2nd bridge, which was completed this week.  As well as extensive turf replacement on the RHS of hole 10 and selective turf repairs to various tee blocks.
