Congratulations to the KCGC Gents BDGA Pennant Squad!
A huge congratulations to our Gents BDGA Pennant team, who secured a strong victory in the final round of the 2025 season yesterday, defeating Virginia Golf Club at home with a score of 14.5–6.5.
This impressive result means that KCGC will be promoted back to Division 1, where we’ll compete against Royal Queensland, Brisbane, and Pacific Golf Club.
We’d also like to extend congratulations to our Open and Junior squads, who both won their respective flags, and to our Masters team, who finished a commendable second in their division.
An incredible achievement by the entire squad, who went through the entire home-and-away season undefeated!
We’d like to recognise the outstanding performances of several individuals:
-
Matt Lake – Keperra Player of the Year
Won 5 out of 5 matches, including an incredible comeback from 5 down. Matt was instrumental in swinging momentum in our favour throughout the season.
-
Chase Duffy – Keperra Open Player of the Year
Claimed 5.5 wins from 6 games — a consistently strong performer.
-
Jaxon Smith – Keperra Junior of the Year
Won 5 out of 5 in his debut season for Keperra. A remarkable effort from a rookie!
-
Daniel Butler – Keperra Master of the Year
The Pennant Captain led by example, inspiring the team before tee-off and finishing the season with 5 wins from 6 matches.
-
Greg Marshall – Keperra Caddy of the Year
Our Club Captain was on the bag for Chase Duffy and helped guide him to an undefeated season. His support and energy had a positive impact across the squad.
We would also like to express our sincere thanks to our Club Pennant Sponsor, Phil Wuersching from Jim’s Test & Tag, for his continued and much-valued support.
Well done to all players, caddies, and supporters. A fantastic team effort and a season to be proud of!
