Women’s A, B & C Grade Matchplay Championships – Final Results

Today marked the finals of the Women’s A, B, and C Grade Matchplay Championships, showcasing some truly competitive and spirited golf across all grades.

In the A Grade Final, a high-calibre contest between Ally Maguire and Jackie Dowling unfolded. Demonstrating composure and skill throughout the match, Ally ultimately claimed victory with a 4 & 3 margin—securing her second A Grade title in four years, a testament to her continued excellence on the course.

The B Grade Final delivered a nail-biting finish as Kim Williams and Pat Connor battled not only for the win, but for their first-ever B Grade Matchplay crown. After 18 closely fought holes, the players remained tied, necessitating a tense playoff. In the end, it was Kim who held her nerve to triumph on the 19th hole, earning a hard-fought and well-deserved victory.

The C Grade Final also saw a new champion crowned. Catrina Daley faced off against Kathy Madden in a match marked by determination on both sides. Catrina had progressed confidently through earlier rounds, while Kathy secured her place in the final after a dramatic 19th-hole win in her semi-final. In a closely contested encounter, it was Catrina who ultimately edged ahead, claiming the title with a 2 & 1 win.
