COVID-19 – Public Health Directive (PHD) – Mandatory Vaccination

Following the well documented, Mandatory Vaccination Directive announcements by the Qld Government, effective the 17th December, the Club will be introducing changes to its operating procedures to ensure compliance.

In establishing this position, advice was taken from Clubs Qld, Golf Australia & the Office of Liquor & Gaming & Qld Health Department.   The Club has chosen to adopt a position consistent with the parameters defined within the Public Health Directive (PHD).

Members & Patrons (Post 17th December)

Both vaccinated & non-vaccinated members & guests can continue to play both competition & non-competition golf, including the use of practice facilities. (Unchanged status)

Access to the clubhouse’s lower level, including the golf shop, locker rooms & toilets, will also be unrestricted.  All players, irrespective of vaccination status, will have access to the golf shop and halfway house to purchase food & beverage, inclusive of alcoholic beverages.  Please note that these conditions do not apply to post-golf; food & beverages purchases by non-vaccinated patrons will need to be of a takeaway nature post play as they are required to leave the venue immediately.

The Upper Level of Clubhouse (Vaccinated only)

Access to the upper level of the clubhouse (all areas) is restricted to vaccinated members & guests only.  Members and guests visiting the Club to access the function room or member’s bar will be asked to display proof of their vaccination status. In all instances where this information cannot be provided, the individual will be required &, if necessary directed, to leave the premises.

Proof of Vaccination

The Club considers the below acceptable forms to validate vaccination status:

  • vaccination information displayed on the Check-in Qld app (CIQ App). (Preferred)
  • a COVID-19 digital certificate from the Australian Immunisation Register.
  • An online immunisation history statement; or
  • an International COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate printed or electronic from the Department of Home Affairs.

It is important to note that a person can verify their vaccination status either through printed or electronic means.

Exemptions to Vaccination

  • under the age of 16 years
  • A primary or secondary school student attending an activity organised by a school, sporting team or community group
    • Medical exemption will need to be recorded by an eligible health professional on the Australia Immunisation Register for the relevant person. This exemption will need to be published on a person’s COVID-19 Digital Certificate.
    •  A Medical Certificate provided by a GP is NOT an acceptable form of evidence for a medical exemption.

Frequently Asked Questions

Members & Guests are also encouraged to stay across the Qld Govt FAQ’s published on the COVID-19 website about restrictions effective the 17 December 2021, which can be accessed by clicking here.

We appreciate that individuals will have different thoughts and opinions on these changes; however, we ask that all patrons recognise that the Club is legally bound to comply with the Public Health Direction set out by the Queensland Government.

We appreciate your patience as we endeavour to transition through this next set of restrictions as best we can whilst maintaining a welcoming & compliant venue.
