KCGC Foundation

The Keperra Country Golf Club Foundation (the Foundation) has been established in conjunction with the Australia Sports Foundation to support and strengthen the growth and development of the Keperra Country Golf Club (the Club).

The goal of the Foundation is to secure donations and bequests, as well as to undertake fundraising activities, in order to enhance the golf experience at the Club and contribute to identified and future projects beyond the Club’s annual financial capacity.

The Club has long played, and continues to play, an integral role in the lives of its members. It provides a unique environment to enjoy golf in a welcoming and social setting, fostering a strong community culture. The Foundation aims to build upon the legacy of those who have supported the Club since its founding in 1931.

The Committees and memberships that followed the Club’s early years have significantly contributed to its development, shaping it into the Club we enjoy today. As current members and supporters, we benefit from the foresight and progress of those who came before us. Our opportunity now is to support continued development, ensuring a legacy of growth for future generations.

Funding and prioritizing significant projects can be challenging. Each year, the Club strives to meet members’ needs while setting aside surpluses to ensure the long-term development of the Club. Through the Foundation, we are inviting our members, sponsors, and supporters to help secure a strong financial future, allowing us to undertake and potentially accelerate these important projects.

FAQ & Forms

How do funds given to the Foundation find their way to supporting the Club?

The Club will have a range of projects it wishes to progress over time. Some of these projects may be registered with the Australian Sports Foundation (ASF) to enable tax-deductible donations made in support of that individual project. These donations to the ASF (less a small administration fee) will flow through to the club.  Once received, these funds will be made available to the Club to direct to specific projects.

What is a Bequest?

A bequest is a gift left to a beneficiary in an individual’s will. Several types of bequests may include a residual bequest, a percentage of an estate, a specific sum of money, or assets such as real estate, shares or artwork.

How can I be assured that donations or bequests given to the Foundation will not be used for the Club’s normal operating expenses?

The Foundation is overseen by the Australia Sports Foundation, which is separate from the Club. The Club oversees the distribution and application of funds.

Is there any form of recognition of members who have made donations or bequests in their wills?

Appropriate recognition of donations and bequests will be made, the form of which is considered mutually appropriate. Confidentiality will be maintained for those who wish to give anonymously.

Can I specify how the Foundation should use the money I leave?

Donations and bequests can be directed to specific Club projects through the Australian Sports Foundation (ASF).  In these circumstances, the funds will only be used for those projects.

Funds can also be left to the Foundation for unspecified use. In these cases, the funds donated or bequeathed will be added to the Foundation’s accumulated reserves. In time, those funds may be applied to a future project of the Club with the oversight of the (ASF).

If you would like to apply funds to a project that is not currently identified by the Club, you are encouraged to discuss your preference with management.
