Encouragingly, we have experienced some favourable conditions in the past 24 hours and although there has been a level of improvement on the course, it is still considered inaccessible. As such, the course will remain closed Friday 27th.
It is anticipated that the course team will be able to complete some maintenance tasks tomorrow, at which time we will be in a better position to determine weekend play.

A massive congratulations to Keperra Junior Member Wes Hinton, who was yesterday selected in the Queensland State Secondary Schools Team. After a disappointing 3rd round round Wes displayed great character to fire a round of 70 which elevated him into 6th place and on the plane to represent Qld in late August at the Bellarine Peninsula , Victoria. Keperra Teaching Professional and coach, Chris McCourt, said the result was a tribute to Wes’s work ethic and continual desire to improve his game.
In other good news both Caitlin Vanderkruk and Max Nielsen were named as first reserves for both the Ladies and Gents Teams.
Well done to all our representatives of Wes Hinton, Jack Jones, Max Nielsen, Caitlin Vanderkruk and Savannah Rains on their efforts in Townsville.

Further to the Course Update posted on Monday, unfortunately, the course will remain closed Thursday 26th May. Based on the improved weather pattern of the past two days, the course has seen some minor improvement in condition, however reopening will be subject to the upcoming weather conditions, which do not look promising.

Keperra Country Golf Club would like to acknowledge the following KCGC Juniors, Caitlin Vanderkruk, Savanah Rains, Wesley Hinton, Jack Jones and Max Nielsen who are competing in this years Qld Secondary Schools Championships, being played in Townsville this week.
At the time of writing Caitlin was coming 11th and Savanah 25th in the gross section, with Max currently in 7th, Wes 9th and Jack in a tie for 21st place in the gross section.

Members, an extensive course survey was undertaken this morning by our Course Management Team and the club’s consulting Agronomist.
It was determined that several preventative programs to assist turf health, both over the short and long term, will be fast tracked over the next few days. Consequently the course will remain closed for Tuesday and Wednesday with a goal to re-open on Thursday.
All booking sheets up until Thursday have been cancelled.
We are desperate for some fine weather and conditions that will best accelerate the drying process.
Several major events have been impacted during this period and further information on reprograming will be available later this week.
