Sadly it would appear the weather will be playing another role in our scheduling.  At this point, we have made the decision to NOT play golf tomorrow however we will be running a relaxed lunch with trivia in the Club Bar for which you are all invited.

The “Lunch packs” will still be provided as well as a selection of lucky door and trivia prizes.   One lucky guests will even find a Pitch repairer in their lunch box which will entitle them to a Wild Dolphin Feeding Experience inclusive of Snorkelling the wrecks thanks to the Club Principal Sponsor – Tangalooma Island Resort.

We would ask that you arrive at 11am for an 11:15am start which should all be wrapped up by 1:30pm at the latest.

If you do not wish to attend, we please ask that you remove your name from the booking sheet.  The sheet will be locked at 6pm today for catering purposes.

Course Update – March 25th

Course Update – March 25th

The Course and Maintenance Team were again busy this week preparing & reinstating the course following the floods. Progress thus far has been encouraging and the volume of member compliments & encouragement has been hugely appreciated by the entire team – thank you.

Specific works include: –

  • Scarifying the 18th fairway to break up the remaining embedded silt. This process is likely to continue periodically however the rain scheduled for this weekend should aid the task.
  • Tree removal & cleaning up of damaged areas on hole seven.
  • Dethatched all Greens with dusting planned for Monday 28th
  • Several bunkers on holes 1-9 have been reinstated & this task will progress across the entire course over the next few weeks.

The course is still well short of the condition it was in prior to March and the poorer areas are easily identifiable. Importantly we have had another positive week & we are certainly moving in the right direction. It is also notable that the areas that were less impacted by the floods have enjoyed the “rest” & reduced volume of play.

The Club has begun the process of rescheduling major events (refer to earlier email and member post) as well fairway renovations, which following the flooding becomes a critical task.

After 14 years, we farewelled Harley Richards who has chosen to pursue an opportunity outside of the horticulture industry. We wish Harley the very best and thank him for his service. Pleasingly, the team welcomed two new staff members this week, Matt Leishman & Jack Meehan. Jack more recently was a member of the club hospitality team & is thrilled with the opportunity to become a member of the course team.
