The Club is thrilled to announce it has agreed to Reciprocal Terms with a premier UK Golf Club – Minchinhampton Golf Club which is located south of Gloucester. Similarly to Keperra hosting the Monday qualifier for the AUSPGA Championship, Minchinhampton Golf Club recently hosted a regional qualifier for the British Open. This morning the Club held the final round of the Golf QLD 2 Day Winter Classic. Congratulations to all our Juniors that competed and represented the Club. Congratulations to Jack Armstrong who claimed the outright win for the event holding off Ethan Wright from Virginia Golf Club after a count back. Ben Dowling shot 156 gross in the Boys 156 gross (T8th) while also claiming 2nd in the Nett, while Grace Kelleher was best in the girls shooting 186 gross (11th). The B & C Grade Gents Matchplay Finals were contested last Saturday after several unavoidable delays. The B Grade Final saw Jason Boorman up against Phil Carrington with Jason registering a 4 & 3 victory. C Grade saw longtime mates Barry Dowling and Daniel McCourt going head to head, after a tight struggle on the front nine Dan was able to draw away to a 4 & 3 victory and obtain some bragging rights.

The final round of this year’s A Grade Championships was contested on Sunday the 19th of June and the battle for Club Champion was exhilarating to say the least. A rough front nine for our overnight leaders opened the door for the chasing pack which in turn led to tight tussle over the back nine. Trailing by 1 shot with 2 holes to play seasoned campaigner and 4 time Champion, Matt Dowling, managed to draw on all his experience and birdie his 71st and 72nd holes. Defending Champion Jarrod Mann was unable to hole from 12 feet on the 72nd hole which would have forced a playoff, leaving Dowling to claim his 5th Championship. A special mention must also go to Senior Champion Craig Smith who managed the rarest of feats claiming a hole in one on the difficult 17th hole.
Once again a big thankyou to Jeff McConaghy, a long term supporter and sponsor of the club and in particular the Gents and Ladies Championships.
