Course Update – Monday 23rd May

Members, an extensive course survey was undertaken this morning by our Course Management Team and the club’s consulting Agronomist.

It was determined that several preventative programs to assist turf health, both over the short and long term, will be fast tracked over the next few days. Consequently the course will remain closed for Tuesday and Wednesday with a goal to re-open on Thursday.

All booking sheets up until Thursday have been cancelled.

We are desperate for some fine weather and conditions that will best accelerate the drying process.  

Several major events have been impacted during this period and further information on reprograming will be available later this week.

Ladies Midweek Championships – Revised Format

With the continued wet weather forcing the closure of the course, the decision has been made to reduce the Ladies Midweek Championships to a 36 hole event. The first round will now be played on Tuesday the 31st of May with the final round now moving to the 7th of June. We acknowledge that this may not be the desired outcome for some players but unfortunately with the current course condition, and an ever condensing schedule, a necessary one. 

For those players who are not play in the Midweek Championships, the timesheet for next Tuesday will release as schedule and bookings can be made at this time.

Course Closed – Monday 23rd May

Regrettably, another 30mm of rainfall both overnight and continuing today has once again forced the course to be closed for Monday the 23rd of May.  

A further update on the possibility of play for Tuesday will be given tomorrow afternoon.

Course Update – for Saturday 21st May

The miserable weather conditions and consistent showers have the course conditions worsening rather than improving.  A course inspection late this afternoon, Friday 20^th May, has the course very close to unplayable. (4:30pm).  It will only take a small amount of overnight rain for the course to be closed tomorrow (Saturday 21^st May).

The course staff have mown as much of the course as possible, however, several fairways and all the rough, have not seen a mower for close to 10 days. If play is to occur over the weekend carts will only be permitted on Paths (absolutely no exceptions inclusive of Orange flag holders).  A decision on the Saturday play will be made as early as possible in the morning and will be communicated on this site.

Player enjoyment, welfare, weather predictions and preservation of the course will all contribute to the decision-making process.
