COVID update – Masks

Members are reminded that following the recent Queensland Government COVID update, Masks are now required to be worn when indoors with the exception of when patrons are seated while eating and drinking.

Course Update 29/12

It is hoped that all enjoyed a safe and enjoyable Christmas period. With maintenance activities over the past four days limited to mowing greens & today’s competition (29^th Dec) field exceeding 290 players, it has created some challenges & impacted general course presentation. Furthermore bookings over the next 5 days are nearing capacity.

The team will be working hard to get things back in order; however, general conditioning will be short of expectation for some days.

With 126mm of rain since 3:00pm Christmas Eve and total rainfall for the past five weeks exceeding 535mm, the sustained wet weather conditions have adversely impacted several course areas. To give some magnitude to Nov/Dec rainfall levels, total rainfall for the same periods in 2020, 2019, 2018 was 135mm, 85mm & 75mm, respectively. Although more rain is always better than not enough, we are now well beyond what we would call extreme.

Further to last week’s update, scheduled maintenance for the next month includes remediating the weaker greens, eliminating weeds within all playing areas, restoring bunkers, inclusive of drainage on holes 7, 9 & 18 & concrete path repairs on hole 5.
