Ladies Club Championships 2022 – Final Results

The Ladies Club Champion for 2022 was determined after a tense final round. Mikayla Dayl held the slenderest of leads, 1 shot, over defending champion Caitlin Vanderkruk. Despite a rocky start Mikayla was able to steady things and make the turn in 2 over 38, Caitlin remained right on her heels also turning 2 over. With bogeys on holes 10 and 11, Mikayla slipped 1 shot behind, but a bounce back birdie to Caitlin’s bogey on the 12th saw a 2 shot swing, and with Mikayla playing the final 7 holes in 2 under par she was able to secure a 4 shot victory, and her first Ladies Championship while also taking out the Girls Junior Championship in the process.

In the Nett Event Julie Lakotij came storming home with a final round nett 66 to overtake the 36 hole leader Jemma Leonard, and claim a 4 shot victory.

USPGA Club Event / May 23rd (SHEET CLOSING SOON)

The Club is excited to announce that it will be running a new event which was originally planned for 2021, however was cancelled due to COVID implications. To coincide with the final round of the USPGA from Southern Hills, the Club will be showing the final round on big screen followed by running a competition where members (and their guests) can play from a configuration of the Old Course which encompasses randomly 3 yellows tees, 3 white tees and 3 blue tees (over each 9). The sole objective of this day is to provide an event where men and ladies can play from tee positions they have never played from (for example Front Blocks on 5 / Far Back on 9). The Competition will have a Ladies and a Gents winner. The Function room will be open from 6:30am and it is anticipated Golf will commence around 8:30am-9am. The day will include a light breakfast (Ham, Cheese Tomato Croissant and Danishes) with Juice and Tea and Coffee station as well as a Hamburger Buffet during presentation.

The Club will again be taking pre-orders for drinks and have them ready for all players as they leave the Clubhouse. Those looking to pre-order drinks should email admin@keperragolf.com.au with their selections. The booking sheet is now open and be accessed by clicking here.

Gents Foursomes Championships

This popular club event is again fast approaching, Sunday June 5th, so be sure to put it in your calendar. Members are reminded that demand for motorised carts on this day is extremely high and should be reserved at the time of booking to avoid disappointment. The Timesheet will be released on Thursday the 19th of May at 4pm.

Juniors Continue to excel

Congratulations to KCGC Junior Jack Jones (below left) for winning the Overall Gross / Ken Layton Memorial held on Sunday at the Toowoomba City Golf Club. Jack shot 70. Special mention to Caitlin Vanderkruk (bottom left) who also won the Nett Girls Division 1 after shooting 73. Well done Jack & Caitlin
