The final of the Nell Harvey Memorial Foursomes Matchplay event was contested on Tuesday 28th of September. Competing in this years final were the parings of Helen Blanchfield and Michelle Hendle against Kirsty James and Michelle Lavin. Both teams had some narrow victories on their way to the final. However on this occasion Helen and Michelle jumped out to a fast start and were at one stage 6up, Kirsty and Michelle were able to claw things back but eventually ran out of holes with Helen and Michelle going on to record a 4 & 3 victory.
Congratulations Ladies.

Over the last few weeks my team has been focusing on general maintenance. There has been some follow-up applications of the bio-treatment on the dams. The 17th dam being the focus, as it did not respond as well as the other waterways to the initial treatment. The greens and tees have been fertilised in preparation for the warmer weather kicking in. These fertiliser applications will continue to assist these key assets, with the tees having suffered from the sheer volume of play over the winter period. Members will notice that the poa-trivalis grass, used to oversow the greens prior to Winter, will start to lose its vibrant green colour and slowly die-off as the hotter daytime temperatures continue to rise, leaving the 328 Bermuda grass as the dominant grass plant.
The new pumps installed earlier this year have the facility to inject product into the daily watering cycle. Over the past two weeks this has been commissioned and a wetting agent has been added to assist with the watering efficiency during this dry period. We have had a total of 20mm of rain over the past two months which is less than ideal heading into what should now be the start of the growing season.
This week has seen significant time dedicated to general clean-up work after some high winds, loosing productivity for most of the following two days.
22nd Hole: The green surrounds turf has grown-in to a point that it is possible to play this hole to the green proper. Play will revert to a par 3, playing from the synthetic mats to the newly bunkered green. The first ½ of the 22nd fairway has been sprayed with round-up and will be prepared for turfing the week of the Keperra Bowl.
Happy Golfing

On Saturday the 18th of September we saw Warren Scott and Michael Leonard battle it out for this years Gents Nett Matchplay. Both players had a fairly comfortable ride to the final and with in good form a tight final was to expected.
Michael got away to a fast start as was 4up through the first nine holes, but knew the match was far from over with Warren having previously tasted success in this event in 2017 and 2018, Warren then produced a stunning back nine to come away with a 3 and 1 victory.
Congratulations Warren.
