The BDLGA pennant season started with much anticipation after having a year off in 2020. The season saw many challenges with weather, Covid course restrictions, and also the ever-changing travel rules which saw most Clubs’ player participation ebb and flow. Keperra put in 4 teams this year, 2 Weekday and 2 Weekend and it was hugely supported by experienced players, caddies and the amazing new talent that we have in Keperra’s membership ranks. This year saw 2 of our juniors, Caitlin and Savannah, join the senior team. Keperra’s future looks very bright with these young ladies representing us. A massive thank you to many ladies who filled in spots and especially those who played up into other divisions. Going from handicap matchplay to off the stick for many can be daunting but you all handled it seamlessly.
Our teams braved many early, chilly, wet and sometimes windy mornings. With the competition standards at an all-time high we were unable to win a flag this year but our players’ sportsmanship was commented on many times by other clubs. We hosted 4 games and received emails and messages about Keperra’s welcoming hospitality and fantastic course condition. Thank you to the volunteers who made themselves available for these home games. Keperra team results were Silver 7th, Bronze 3rd, WK1 6th, WK2 4th.
The Keperra Ladies also would like to thank our incredible sponsor Don Alroe & Sons who help keep us looking the part!
The Captains, Players, Caddies and Volunteers have done Keperra proud and we look forward to what the 2022 season brings.
