18th June Course Update

Over the past week, with limited to no weather interruptions, there has been some positive progress on the 22^nd hole. We have been able to turf of the cart path surrounds and some other key areas closer to the green.  The fairway sprigging has been completed, which will allow the grow-in period to commence. The irrigation system has now been fully commissioned which will assist with the initial frequent watering schedule.

As part of the general maintenance program, we have continued to plug selected areas of the greens and have been able to redistribute some of the mulch piled near the 21^st hole to the 3^rd , 12^th & 26^th holes. There has also been some additional tree trimming on holes 20, 21,23 & 26. In the coming weeks, the greens will be aerated and have a fungicide application.

Ladies Captain 4BBB Stroke Final Result

Today saw the Ladies final of the Captains 4BBB Stroke, the matchup of  Jan Stapleton and Jen Park taking on Karen Pisarek and Ally Maguire was always going to be a tight tussle.

In the end it was the combination of Karen and Ally who came out on top with a narrow 2up victory, congratulations ladies.

Gents Foursomes Championships 2021

A perfect (albeit very cold) Winter’s morning greeted the 142 strong field for this year’s, 36-hole, Gents Foursomes Championship.

The Am Round saw a fine score from Jarrod Mann and Ryan Hoelzl of even par 72 with a fantastic inward half of 32 (4 under). Hot on their heels was the perennial partnership of Matt Dowling and Gavin Chapman with a 1 over 73.

Despite starting their afternoon round with a double bogey Matt and Gavin were able to rally and managed to shoot 3 under for their final 10 holes, leaving them with a 1 under 71- and 36-hole total of even par 144.

For Jarrad and Ryan another outward half of 4 under had them in the box seat to take out the title, however as all those who have played foursomes can testify playing the final 3 holes at Keperra is a stern test, and unfortunately one that got the better of Jarrad and Ryan leaving them to finish 2 shots adrift of our champions Matt Dowling and Gavin Chapman.

4th June Course Update

During the past week, the team have trimmed the bunker edges and applied fungicide to all 27 greens.  The 14^th and 17^th greens have had some remedial patching from the turf nursery, which will continue over the coming week/s.  There were also a couple of unplanned irrigation leaks/blowouts to attend do.

With Winter now upon us we will be increasing the frequency, and range of movement, of the tee markers, particularly on par threes and the shorter par fours.  Over the coming months Member assistance is critical, as filling divots throughout the course and repairing pitch marks on greens will assist with the course recovery and presentation for all.
