Greenkeepers Shed

The Maintenance shed project is progressing well, as many members that have been at the Club in the last week will attest.  For those who may not have, the image below will give an indication of just how far the project has advanced. 

The maintenance team are now fully relocated to their temporary home at the rear of the Clubhouse.  To enable this to occur it was necessary to temporarily re-claim 22 parking spots (inclusive of Staff parking) which will add to the challenge of parking in peak periods.  To assist in alleviating this situation, the Board will be forgoing their car parking spots, which will now be allocated to Staff.

Hills Carnivale

Over the weekend the Club was a major sponsor of the local Hills Carnivale held at the George Wilmore Park.  The event attracted immense local community foot traffic and was a great opportunity to showcase the Club’s Junior Development Program.  With an estimated 500 kids enjoying some chipping and putting on the Club’s own mini putting green and Birdie Ball driving range.

Jack performs well on the ‘Invincibles’ Golf circuit

Congratulations to Jack Jones for winning the Division 2 Boys competition at the Invincibles Matchplay Championship played last month.  Jack won 2/up over Adam Jansz at Twin Waters.  Well done Jack and good luck for the upcoming junior pennant season.

Gents Matchplay

The Gents A,B & C Grade Matchplay Finals were completed on Sunday 23rd of May.  

Contesting the A Grade Final this year was current Club Champion Jared Mann, facing off against last years Matchplay Champion, Scott Draper. With the match all square after 9 holes, any early inroads on the back nine would prove crucial. Scott was able to do this by winning the 10th, 11th and 13th holes, despite winning the 14th hole Jared was unable to recover and when Scott won the 16th hole victory was assured with Scott taking the match 3 & 2. 

In the B Grade Final we saw number 8 seed Kerry Dobinson up against number 2 seed Chris McNamara. This match was a tight tussle throughout with Chris knocking in a 3 foot putt on the 18th to secure a 1up victory. 

The C Grade Final was another close affair with C Grade stroke play winner Jason Moss looking to complete the double against 11 seed Michael Skinner. Despite qualifying at 11 Michael was able to push Jason all the way, with Jason eventually coming away with a 2up victory. 

Congratulations must go to all those who competed, and management would like to acknowledge the flexibility competitors displayed, after the original schedule was required to be modified.

School Holiday Junior Clinic

In the upcoming School Holidays Chris McCourt will be running a 1 day Clinic on Thursday 1st July. Beginners will be from 8.30-10.30am at a cost of $35p/p.  Advanced students will be from 12-4pm at a cost of $45p/p
