Club Governance Update

Recently the Board approved a new governance initiative in the form of the Board Director Skills Matrix.

It details the mix of skills and diversity that the Board currently has or is looking to achieve and outlines a collective skills assessment for Board Directors who may consider joining the Keperra Country Golf Club Board when a vacancy or call for nominations is published. 

The comprehensible skill rating identifies many skill areas, describes them, provides an assessment and a capability assessment.  The document can be viewed on the website under the Club Info tab.

Sportsman’s Lunch – Postponed

Unfortunately due to the revised Ekka Holiday now falling on the 29th of October, the Club will not be proceeding with the Sportsman’s Lunch as planned.  This event will be revised for 2022 around the same time of the year.

Draw for $150 House credit – pay Membership by 31/8

As the Club approaches its annual renewal date of the 1st of September, the Club’s financial instalment partner, Pay As You Golf, has generously put forward a prize of $150 house credit for any member, of any category that pays their Membership fees before the due date (COB 31st of August).  Please note the Member that wins the $150 house credit will be drawn at random. Ladies News

The month started with another lockdown but spirits were lifted with our first ever “Christmas in July” on the 13th being a shot gun start and a delicious Christmas lunch to follow for over 70 ladies including our nine hole comp members Ella King, Julie Biggar, Sue Connell and Gwen Smith.  We welcomed and thanked a new sponsor “We are MAD” who donated beautiful candles with proceeds going to a chosen charity. Happy winners were Helen Stuart, June Cunningham, Robyn Baker and Catrina Daly. Runners up Jemma Leonard, Kirsty James, Jeanette Giudice and Trace Thompson.

With everyone together it was the perfect opportunity to award Helen Blanchfield the Gwen Osterlund Trophy for 2021 in recognition of her outstanding contribution in a voluntary capacity to Keperra Country Golf Club.

The Ladies Pennants concluded with a special dinner for Players and Caddies on the 22nd and again an enormous thank you to our Captain Renai Ridley for all the organising of a very successful event.

The BDLGA held their Champion of Champions at Virginia Golf Club on the 25th and we pass on congratulations to Caitlin Vanderkruk who was the Gross Runner-up in Division 1 and Di Alroe the Division 3 Nett winner.

Presidents 4BBB Champions

The Presidents Fourball Final was played on Saturday 31/07/2021. This year saw the event reverting to its traditional 4BBB Matchplay format. Contesting this year’s final was the number 4 qualifiers of Wayne Roberts and Darren Phillips taking on Tony Duncan and Brad Gollan who qualified in 6^th position.

In the end it was Wayne Roberts and Darren Phillips who would prevail. These two gentlemen certainly like getting their money’s worth with wins in the first two rounds occurring on the 19^th and the final going to the 18^th and a 1up victory.
