Gents Matchplay

Gents Matchplay

Saturday saw the culmination of this years Gents A,B & C Grade Matchplay.

A Grade

The A Grade Final was contested between number 4 seed Jarrod Mann and 10th seed Luke Brumpton. Luke had an impressive run to the final defeating 2 previous Club Champions. Jarrod performed consistently throughout the event, despite a getting pushed to extra holes in his semifinal. In the end however, it would be Jarrod prevailing, going on to record a 4 & 3 victory.

B Grade

Will Carty and Paul Argent would contest the B Grade Final with both players narrowly surviving their semifinal encounters, Will winning 1up whilst Paul required 20 holes to finally get past his opponent. The Final however, wouldn’t require an additional holes with Will going on to record a 2 & 1 victory over Paul.

C Grade

The form from the Club Championships obviously continued for our C Grade contestants, with 1 seed, Trent Bucholz going up against the 2 seed, in Mark Harrington. Both players were taken to the 19th in their semifinal matches and this theme would continue in the final with 20 holes being required to determine the winner. Mark would get the job done at the end of the day, going on to secure the title.

Congratulations to all those who took part in this years event, and of course to our deserved champions.

Ladies Pennant – Update

Ladies Pennant – Update

Keperra’s Weekend Ladies Pennant Team had it all to play for on Sunday 26th of May. Despite only requiring a draw to secure the title, there was a few forced changes to the team , with injury and other commitments requiring a reshuffle.

After some tight losses in 3 of the first 4 matches the Ladies were able to steady the ship securing 2 wins and a half out of the final 3 games to ensure the result with Royal Queensland would end in at 3.5 – 3.5 and the valuable tie that would secure the overall title.

Congratulations to all the Ladies who represented Keperra so magnificently throughout the season and of course winning the Pennant.

————————————————-

The BDLGA Ladies Pennant season is at the pointy end, with solid performances from the Keperra Ladies holding them in competitive position overall.

Weekend Yellow Diamond Division
Last weekend in the Yellow Diamond Division, the Ladies played at Nudgee with KCGC winning 4-3. Mikayla Dyal (5/4), Caitlin Vanderkruk (1 up), Savannah Rains (10/8) and Melissa Mason (1 up) being victors. The girls are currently top of the table and a win or draw over Oxley seeing them take out the title.

Weekday Sapphire Division Zone 1
After a resounding victory of 7 to nil at home, Keperra was defeated by Nudgee at Sandgate on May 17th 4.5-2.5. Julie Watson (3/2) and Helen Blanchfield (8/6) were our winners with Zena Bell squaring her match. Keperra are currently third, 1 point behind Redcliffe. The last match is on May 31st at Nudgee against Virginia – The ladies can move up to second position with a win (and Nudgee beating Redcliffe).

Good luck ladies on your run home.

The Club would like to also acknowledge and thank Member Phil Wuersching and Club Pennant Sponsor Jim’s Test & Tag for his support of all our Teams.
