Following yesterday’s inspection, the Course will remain closed on Friday until 2:30pm, when it will be open for members and their guests only. The practice facilities will open at 9:30am. An online booking sheet is now available on the club website . As such, can I please stress the importance of confirming a booking before ‘showing up’ to avoid disappointment.
Unfortunately, the Bridge on the 11th hole has been damaged, and remedial works are planned for Friday morning. As such, 18 of the 27 holes will be in play tomorrow. Longer-term repairs will need to be undertaken in the coming weeks. Thankfully, the main irrigation line on the same bridge was unaffected.
The remainder of the course, except for select holes (1/4/7/8/14/16/18/19), has held up quite well, all things considered. These holes bore the grunt of the flooding, and as such, the Course and Maintenance team have been sweeping up debris by hand to assist in the drying of these areas & enabling mowing. Unfortunately, there has been some small ‘gauging’ to the front (thankfully) of the 8th green, which will be filled accordingly.
A communication regarding Saturday’s (and likely Sunday’s) Competition/ non-competition golf and the associated playing conditions, local rules, cart operation and private cart operation will also placed on the Member Home page and emailed to all members.
The green renovations, which commenced on Monday, have been completed as planned, which has been an extraordinary feat, mindful of the added workload created this week. On behalf of the Club, I’d like to thank Course Superintendent Keith, Assistant Tim and the maintenance team for their hard work and commitment to getting the course back in play.
We look forward to welcoming you back to the Club on Friday.
Kind regards,
Rod Rhodes
Club President
