Wes Hinton Claims 2025 Queensland Amateur Title in Thrilling Finish

Wes Hinton has emerged victorious in a tense Championship Match at Bribie Golf Club, defeating Lachlan Jones (Brisbane Golf Club) 2up to win the 2025 Queensland Amateur.

With fellow KCGC Pennant teammate Ben Dowling on the bag, Wes held his nerve under pressure to secure an incredible victory.

QLD Men’s Amateur Championship – Update

Congratulations to Wesley Hinton for progressing to the final 4 of the QLD Men’s Amateur Championship after winning both matches on Thursday. While Ben Dowling won his first round match (1up), he unfortunately went down 2&1 against Lincoln Morgan. Jack Reid also went down in the first match 4&3. Wesley will now play against Joshua Fuller (Vintage Golf Club) for a chance to play in the final Match tomorrow afternoon. Good luck Wes.

A huge congratulations to Keperra members Wesley Hinton, Ben Dowling, and Josh Reid on making it through to the final 16 of the QLD Men’s Amateur Championship – being played at the Bribie Island GC.

The boys now move into the Matchplay stage, with tee times starting from 7:33am with Ben Dowling in the 2nd group out, followed closely by Hinton and Reid in the last pairing.

Earlier in the Tournament – Dan McGregor carded his first ever hole in one on the 7th hole during round 2.

Well done to Dan and our final 3 — an outstanding achievement, and best of luck in the knockout round!
