Course Condition 12/1

Course Condition 12/1

It has again been a busy week for our Course Maintenance Team.  Weather conditions have seen it necessary to introduce a preventative fungicide program and over the past fortnight, two applications have occurred.   A light dusting of sand was on Monday applied to the greens, inclusive of fertiliser which forms part of the preparation works for the upcoming green renovations.

Although signification work on the bunkers has again been impacted by weather.  Every effort to have the presentation of the bunkers ready for this weekend is occurring.  With ideal growing conditions, mowing has continued to be a major focus.

In general terms the Course has held up well, however some of the rough and semi rough areas are particularly wet.

Current Course Conditions

Dear Members,

We hope you’ve had a wonderful Christmas break, New Year & look forward to welcoming you back to the Club.    The past few weeks have been busy, with many choosing to celebrate the festive season with a round of golf & a cold drink. It also proved to be a typical Brisbane summer with multiple storms and rainfall exceeding 205.8ml from Christmas Eve through to today.

The wet conditions, coupled with public holidays & plenty of players enjoying the course, have caused significant disruptions to course maintenance activities, with the most notable being the presentation of bunkers.  The Course team are confident that with a little luck from mother nature, standards will be returned within the coming week.

The 2024 fixture book is now online, and we encourage members to review the major events calendar.  We have an exciting year of golf ahead, with the first major events being the Women’s Open Day on February 1st and the Gent’s R.H. Cottam Memorial on January 27th.
