Pace of play

Pace of play

The Club wishes to remind members of the importance of pace of play.  In recent weeks the Club has seen a trend of average round times increasing, which is not ideal and nor do we believe most members wish to see.  The Club would ask all its members to please be mindful and take responsibility for their position in the field and always maintain a quick pace throughout their round.

Ladies News – February

Ladies News – February

47 ladies, including 7 new lady members attended the Opening Day Morning Tea on Thursday 2nd February, ahead of the first Tuesday Monthly Medal of the season, a big thank you to all in attendance.

2023 will see Tuesday Monthly Medals played as a one tee start, with the following week being a two tee start, allowing for the presentation of the previous week’s medal winner badges.  There was serious consideration given to incorporating a Maximum-Score version of stroke-play for C-Grade Monthly Medals in 2023. After an initial trial, some system limitations and taking into account the differing experience levels that exist within the C-Grade playing group the match committee has decided to maintain status quo with standard stroke-play to remain for all grades. Please note: all Monthly Medal events played in June and July will be played a Single Stableford for both ladies and gents.

Congratulations to Allison Terry who won the first ladies Saturday event of the year, the Bank of Queensland – Aspley sponsored Monthly Medal. Saturday ladies, please note that the reserved tee time block will not be available during the rounds of the gent’s Club Championships, 4th,11th & 18th March.

Upcoming Major Events

Captains 4BBB Stroke – Matchplay Qualifier- 21st Feb

Open Day – Shotgun Start – 28th March

Membership & Competition no shows

Membership & Competition no shows

While it has proved slightly challenging at times to secure a tee time for Saturday competitions, it’s reassuring to see the waitlist function working well.  The Club wishes to reassure Members it monitors these sheets closely.  In fairness to those on the waitlist, these members often only get a few hours’ notice that they will get a confirmed tee time for a Saturday. As such the Club would like to ask that if members are aware they will not be playing on Saturday to remove their name ASAP and not leave it until late afternoon the night before play.

Furthermore, during January Keperra closed its membership and introduced Provisional Membership status, with the exception of 5 day Memberships for all incoming Members.  Provisional Membership restricts new members from booking until 3/4/5 days prior to the competition itself depending on the category.
